A man was arrested in Miami after he carried out a brutal attack using a stick, resulting in the deaths of two homeless individuals. This violent encounter occurred early Thursday morning and is being described by law enforcement officials as an “unprovoked” incident targeting four homeless individuals.

The chaotic scene began shortly after 6 a.m. when a 911 call reported that a 30-year-old man was attacking people living on the streets. Miami Police Chief Manny Morales shared details with the media about the suspect’s actions, stating that he first assaulted one man near a downtown train station. After this initial attack, he proceeded down the road to assault another homeless man, and then targeted a couple who were also homeless across the street.

The police received the emergency call and responded almost immediately. According to Morales, officers were able to apprehend the suspect quickly, as he attempted to flee the scene following his violent actions.

Morales expressed his profound concern about the incident, labeling it a “horrible” act. He emphasized that both the police officers present and the Miami Police Department as a whole are shocked and disturbed by such a display of unwarranted aggression.

While the authorities have not disclosed the identity of the suspect, they confirmed that he lacks a recent criminal record in the Miami area. However, he has had some minor encounters with law enforcement in New York, which adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.
