The Indiana Pacers have announced that guard Bennedict Mathurin will face a one-game suspension without pay, due to inappropriate behavior directed toward a game official. This decision was made public on Wednesday evening.
Mathurin’s suspension follows an incident that occurred during a recent game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he received a penalty for his actions with 3:58 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Pacers ultimately lost that game 127-117 at their home court.
As a consequence of this suspension, Mathurin will not participate in the upcoming game against the Detroit Pistons scheduled for Thursday evening. This season, he has been a notable contributor to the team, averaging 16.5 points across 41 games.
