The New York Jets have recently conducted interviews with two candidates for their general manager position, namely Jon-Eric Sullivan from the Green Bay Packers and Brian Gaine, who serves as the assistant general manager of the Miami Dolphins.
This marks a significant development in their search, bringing the total number of candidates the Jets have engaged with to 15, as they aim to find a suitable replacement for Joe Douglas, who was dismissed from his position in November.

In addition to Sullivan and Gaine, the team has also talked to a diverse array of candidates, including Mike Borgonzi, the assistant GM for Kansas City; Trey Brown from Cincinnati; former Atlanta GM Thomas Dimitroff; Ray Farmer from the Los Angeles Rams; Mike Greenberg, who is the assistant GM for Tampa Bay; Ryan Grigson, senior vice president of player personnel for Minnesota; and a selection of other notable executives and analysts.
Some of these include Alec Halaby, the assistant GM in Philadelphia; Darren Mougey from Denver; Jim Nagy, executive director of the Senior Bowl; Lance Newmark working with Washington; ESPN analyst Louis Riddick; former Tennessee GM Jon Robinson; and Chris Spielman of Detroit.

Alongside the search for a new general manager, the Jets are also actively looking for a head coach, with at least nine candidates having been interviewed so far for that role.
Sullivan, who is entering his third season as the vice president of player personnel for the Packers, has accumulated 21 years of experience within the organization.
He began as a college scout and steadily advanced to his current position, which he has held since 2022.
His resume also includes a recent interview for the general manager position with Tennessee and an interview request from Las Vegas.
Notably, Sullivan comes from a football lineage, as his father, Jerry, was a well-respected NFL and college assistant coach before retiring in 2021.

Brian Gaine, on the other hand, has been with the Buffalo Bills as their assistant general manager since 2022.
He has previous experience fulfilling the general manager role during his time with Houston in 2018.
Gaine also had a significant tenure with the Bills as vice president of player personnel in 2017, only to return in 2019 as a senior personnel adviser.
Prior to his current roles, he was a scout for the Jets for six seasons beginning in 1999 and has held various positions with the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins over the years.
