HENDERSON, Nev. — The Las Vegas Raiders are actively seeking candidates for their general manager position and have reached out to interview two notable executives: John Spytek from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jon-Eric Sullivan from the Green Bay Packers.
Spytek currently serves as the assistant general manager for the Buccaneers, a role he has filled for two seasons after spending nine years within the organization. The Buccaneers secured their fourth consecutive NFC South title but were recently ousted from the playoffs by the Washington Commanders.
On the other hand, Sullivan is in his third year as the vice president of player personnel for the Packers and has been part of the franchise since 2018. Under his guidance, the Packers have reached the playoffs five times in the last seven years, although they faced defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in their most recent playoff outing.
The Raiders’ search for a new general manager comes after the dismissal of Tom Telesco, who held the position for only one season. The organization is also on the lookout for a new head coach, having already requested or conducted interviews with a variety of candidates. Among those considered are Pete Carroll, the former head coach of the Seattle Seahawks and Southern California, as well as Detroit Lions coordinators Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson. They are also exploring options with Vance Joseph, the defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos, Todd Monken, the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, and former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, along with Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
Antonio Pierce was relieved of his coaching duties after leading the team to a disappointing 4-13 record in the previous season.
