Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond becomes the latest Longhorn to declare for the NFL Draft early.

In a significant development for the Texas Longhorns football team, junior wide receiver Isaiah Bond announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft, following the team’s recent run to the College Football Playoff semifinals. This declaration marks the continuation of underclassman exits from the program as they transition to the professional level.

Bond, who made the transfer from Alabama at the beginning of this season, had an impressive performance overall, amassing 34 receptions for 540 yards and scoring five touchdowns. However, his contributions were hindered by an ankle injury that affected his performance during the final stretch of the season. In the last five games, Bond’s impact dwindled, as he recorded only four catches for 57 yards without any touchdowns, and he sat out the playoff victory against Clemson.

He is now the fourth junior player from Texas to declare for the draft, joining offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., wide receiver Matthew Golden, and running back Jaydon Blue on the list of players leaving early for a shot at professional football.

Additionally, the Longhorns await the decision of Quinn Ewers, their starting quarterback for the past three seasons. Ewers has indicated that he is considering a move to the NFL, which could further shake up the roster as Texas prepares for the next chapter.
