Bayern’s goalkeeper Mala Grohs resumes training following cancer treatment.

MUNICH — Bayern Munich’s goalkeeper Mala Grohs has made her return to training following her treatment for a malignant tumor, as announced by the club on Tuesday.

In November, Grohs took an indefinite break from soccer to focus on her health, with Bayern showing their commitment by extending her contract during this challenging time.

On Tuesday, the club revealed that the 23-year-old goalie has begun participating in certain training sessions with the team and will continue to work on her recovery in the upcoming weeks.

In December, Grohs shared on Instagram that she had undergone surgery, posting a photo that highlighted a significant scar on her neck.

She joined Bayern Munich in 2019 and had been a key player for the club, participating in every match of the Women’s Champions League this season before her medical leave.

Last year, she received a call-up to the German national team but had to withdraw due to a tonsil surgery, meaning she has not yet made her senior debut on the international stage.

Bayern’s support during her recovery emphasizes the strong bond within the club and their commitment to their players’ well-being.
