On Monday night, Alcorn State managed to secure a narrow victory against Alabama State with a final score of 67-65, thanks in large part to the efforts of Marcus Tankersley and Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt, who each contributed 13 points to the team’s success.
Tankersley also made an impact on the boards, collecting six rebounds for the Braves, who now hold a record of 2-14 overall and 2-1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Additionally, Davian Williams provided support with 11 points, further fueling the Braves’ performance on the court.
For Alabama State, the Hornets, who stand at 6-11 and 2-2 in conference play, were led in scoring by CJ Hines with 13 points. Amarr Knox added to the effort with 11 points, complemented by four assists and two steals, while Tyler Mack chipped in with eight points.
This competitive matchup showcased the determination of both teams as they vied for a win amidst a challenging season.
