Will Cain appointed by Fox News to succeed Neil Cavuto in weekday afternoon slot

Fox News Channel has announced that Will Cain will take over the weekday afternoon time slot that was previously held by Neil Cavuto, who departed from the network last month.

Cain, known for his role as a weekend host on the “Fox & Friends” morning show, brings a diverse background to the position. A lawyer by training, he has experience in radio and has also contributed to ESPN’s programming before his move to Fox in 2020. Notably, he had also served as an analyst for CNN and hosted a show on The Blaze.

The opportunity to host a weekday program is rare at Fox, and Cain’s new show will air at 4 p.m. Eastern, right before the popular political talk show “The Five,” which regularly ranks as one of Fox’s highest-rated programs.

While Cavuto often focused on business topics due to his expertise, Cain plans to bring a different approach. He currently runs a podcast that addresses news and sports, which will continue alongside his new television show. Fox has indicated that viewers can expect to see elements of his podcasting style in his TV format, likely featuring more in-depth interviews.

In discussing his new role, Cain expressed his intention to leverage his diverse experience in news, law, entertainment, and business to provide viewers with insightful content and analysis that clarifies current headlines during weekday afternoons. His show is set to premiere next Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Fox contributor Charlie Hurt will step in to replace Cain on the weekend edition of “Fox & Friends,” starting this Saturday.
