DENVER — A man has been taken into custody following a series of stabbings that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in Denver over the weekend, according to police reports released on Monday.

Elijah Caudill, 24, was apprehended after law enforcement officers spotted someone matching the suspect’s description fleeing with a knife near the bustling 16th Street Mall on Sunday night. Following his arrest, authorities discovered another stabbing victim, a man who ultimately succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.

Subsequent investigations revealed that Caudill is also linked to three additional stabbings that occurred in the same vicinity on Saturday night. These incidents led to one woman’s death and left two other individuals injured, police confirmed.

Caudill has legal representation from a public defender, as confirmed by court spokesperson Carolyn Tyler. The public defender’s office typically refrains from discussing ongoing cases with the media.

Authorities stated that the stabbings seem to have been random acts of violence, and they are still attempting to determine a motive behind the attacks. Just before the incident on Sunday, police had released a surveillance video of an individual dressed in black, calling for help from the public to locate the suspect.
