QUETTA, Pakistan — On Monday, a significant operation by Pakistani security forces resulted in the deaths of 27 militants in Kachhi district, located in Balochistan province, according to military reports.
The action was based on actionable intelligence and aimed at targeting a known militant hideout.
Authorities indicated that those killed were involved in various acts of terrorism directed at both security personnel and innocent civilians, and they had been previously under surveillance by law enforcement agencies.
While further specifics regarding the identities of the deceased were not disclosed, Balochistan has been a hotspot for an ongoing insurgency, marked by the activities of small Baloch separatist factions and the Pakistani Taliban.
These groups have been known to carry out numerous attacks, primarily focused on security forces, as they push for greater autonomy and independence from the central government.
