PRAGUE — Sparta Prague has announced the acquisition of Danish midfielder Magnus Kofod Andersen from Venezia, a club recently promoted to Serie A.
The Czech champions revealed on Sunday that the 25-year-old midfielder has inked a multi-year contract, although the specifics of the financial arrangement have not been disclosed.
Andersen was set to conclude his tenure at Venezia at the end of the current season. During the last season, he played a pivotal role in aiding the Italian club’s return to the top division.
After transferring from Nordsjælland, a Danish team, to Venezia in 2022, Andersen has made 114 appearances, netting four goals. This season, he has tallied one goal in 14 matches.
With his arrival, Andersen joins a group of fellow Danes at Sparta, which includes head coach Lars Friis, defenders Asger Sörensen and Mathias Ross, along with goalkeeper Peter Vindahl.
Furthermore, Sparta Prague has marked its presence in this season’s Champions League, adding another layer of excitement to their campaign.
