SAINT GEORGE, Utah — Beon Riley led Utah Tech to victory against Tarleton State, scoring 17 points in a close game that ended with a 58-54 result.
Riley contributed not only on offense but also grabbed six rebounds, showcasing his all-around play for the Trailblazers, who improved to 6-11 overall and maintained their perfect record at 2-0 in the Western Athletic Conference.
Hakim Byrd supported the effort with 14 points, efficiently shooting 3 for 9 from the field, including making two out of four three-point attempts, and impressively hitting all six free-throw attempts.
Samuel Ariyibi added to the scoring with seven points, converting 2 of 5 field-goal attempts and making all three free throws.

For Tarleton State, who now stand at 7-11 with a conference record of 2-1, the leading scorer was Keitenn Bristow, who managed to put up 15 points.
