RUSTON, La. – In a thrilling encounter on Saturday night, Sean Newman Jr. propelled Louisiana Tech to a 79-74 victory over Liberty by scoring 27 points.
Newman’s impressive performance was complemented by eight assists, as the Bulldogs improved their record to 13-4 overall and 2-2 in Conference USA. Daniel Batcho made significant contributions as well, netting 24 points on an efficient 6 of 10 shooting while also dominating on the boards with 12 rebounds and blocking three shots. Amaree Abram chipped in with 13 points, hitting 4 of 10 attempts, including a strong 3 for 5 from three-point range.
On the opposing side, Taelon Peter stood out for the Flames, notching a remarkable 33 points. His efforts were bolstered by teammate Jay Maughmer, who added 13 points along with six rebounds. Zach Cleveland also made his mark, contributing 11 points and four assists to the Liberty cause.
