In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks emerged victorious against the Lamar Cardinals, securing a 72-63 win in Beaumont, Texas.
Kyle Hayman was a standout performer, scoring 18 points while contributing eight rebounds and four steals for Stephen F. Austin, now sitting at an overall record of 8-8 and a conference record of 1-4.
Nana Antwi-Boasiako also made significant contributions, adding 17 points to the team’s effort along with three crucial blocks. Dominic Pangonis rounded out the scoring with 11 points, playing a vital role in the Lumberjacks’ successful night.
On the other side of the court, Andrew Holifield was the leading scorer for the Cardinals, finishing with 13 points and two blocks. Lamar, which holds an overall record of 9-7 and is 4-1 in conference play, saw Adam Hamilton add 12 points and six rebounds to the totals. Ja’Sean Jackson also chipped in with 10 points, complemented by two steals, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lumberjacks.
