CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Morehead State triumphed over Southeast Missouri State with a score of 67-56, led by the standout performance of Anouar Mellouk, who scored 18 points.
Mellouk not only shined offensively but also made a significant impact on the boards, securing 10 rebounds for the Eagles, improving their record to 10 wins and 7 losses, with a strong 5-1 standing in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Kenny White Jr. also played a key role in the victory, contributing 14 points along with six rebounds. Dieonte Miles added to the effort with 10 points, shooting an efficient 4 of 6 from the field and converting 2 of 5 attempts from the free-throw line.
On the opposing side, Southeast Missouri State, with a record of 9 wins and 8 losses and a 4-2 mark in conference play, saw Rob Martin lead their scoring with 21 points while also dishing out eight assists.
Brendan Terry supported the Redhawks with 13 points and six rebounds, while Tedrick Washington Jr. contributed six points to the team’s total. The game showcased strong performances from both squads, but Morehead State ultimately secured the win.
