PHILADELPHIA — In an intense battle on Saturday, Towson triumphed over Drexel with a final score of 93-82, thanks in large part to Nendah Tarke’s outstanding performance, where he netted 27 points. Dylan Williamson also shone, contributing nine of his 26 points during the overtime period, solidifying Towson’s win.
Tarke demonstrated impressive shooting skills, hitting 9 of 14 attempts from the field and showcasing his long-range prowess by sinking 4 of 6 from beyond the arc. Additionally, he converted 5 of 9 free throws for the Tigers, who now hold a record of 8-9 overall and 3-1 in the Coastal Athletic Association. Williamson complemented Tarke’s performance by providing seven assists, while Tyler Tejada chipped in with 14 points.
On the other side, Yame Butler was the standout player for the Dragons, scoring 21 points and recording four steals. Cole Hargrove contributed significantly with 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Kobe Magee added 18 points to the team’s efforts.
Caleb Embeya made a mark in the first half for Towson, putting up 11 points as the teams headed to the locker room tied at 32-32. Tarke’s performance was pivotal in the second half, where he scored 17 points, including a crucial game-tying 3-pointer with just 14 seconds left on the clock, bringing the game to a tie at 76 and forcing overtime. During the extra period, Williamson was flawless, making all three of his shots from the floor, including a 3-pointer, and adding on two free throws to help seal the victory for Towson.
