BETHLEHEM, Pa. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday, Josh Scovens delivered an impressive performance with 22 points, guiding the Army Black Knights to a 74-69 triumph over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.
Scovens complemented his scoring by contributing three blocks, helping the Black Knights improve their record to 8-8 overall, including a 2-2 mark in the Patriot League. Additionally, Jalen Rucker had a noteworthy game, contributing 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while AJ Allenspach added nine points to the team’s efforts.
On the other side, the Mountain Hawks, now 6-9 on the season with a 1-3 record in conference play, found their top scorer in Tyler Whitney-Sidney, who finished with 17 points. Teammates Nasir Whitlock and Joshua Ingram also played significant roles, with Whitlock tallying 15 points and Ingram contributing 10 points along with eight rebounds.
Army held a narrow lead at halftime, heading to the locker rooms with a 33-31 advantage. Scovens played a crucial role during the first half, scoring 10 of his points.
