Aranguren guides Hofstra to victory over UNC Wilmington 66-63

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Jean Aranguren was instrumental for Hofstra, scoring 20 points and clinching the win with a free throw with just 31 seconds remaining, as the Pride triumphed over UNC Wilmington 66-63 on Saturday.

Aranguren had an efficient shooting night, completing 7 of 15 attempts, including an impressive 5 of 9 from three-point range. Khalil Farmer contributed significantly as well, adding 13 points to the Pride’s total with a shooting line of 4 for 9 and 3 for 6 from beyond the arc. Additionally, Michael Graham remained perfect from the field, going 5 for 5, while also netting one out of three free throws to finish his game with 11 points.

On the other side, the Seahawks were paced by Donovan Newby, who had a standout performance with 30 points, coupled with five assists and two steals, trying to keep his team competitive throughout the match.

At halftime, Hofstra held a slim advantage, leading UNC Wilmington 29-24. Both teams are set to return to action on Thursday, with Hofstra travelling to face Towson, while UNC Wilmington will host Northeastern at their home court.
