Jürgen Klopp was present in the stands on Saturday, observing the match of second-division team Paris FC, as he embarks on his new position with Red Bull.
As the newly appointed head of global soccer within Red Bull’s network of teams, Klopp’s mission involves transforming Paris FC into a prominent football club within France. This endeavor is under the ownership of the Arnault family, the wealthiest in the country and owners of the luxury conglomerate LVMH.
The Arnault family has not only acquired the second-tier club but has also brought Red Bull on as a minority investor, integrating Klopp’s vision into their plans. Klopp expresses that his main function is to act as a mentor for the coaching staff and management across Red Bull’s affiliated clubs. He elaborated on his intentions in October, saying, “I see my role primarily as a mentor for the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs. But ultimately I am one part of an organization that is unique, innovative and forward looking.”
During the match, a photo surfaced showing a cheerful Klopp sitting alongside Antoine Arnault, the son of billionaire tycoon Bernard Arnault, as the duo witnessed Paris FC secure a 1-0 victory against Amiens.
Paris FC is actively pursuing promotion to the league’s premier division and has temporarily seized the first place in the standings, putting them ahead of their promotion rival, Lorient, who was scheduled to face Metz later that same day.
