On Friday evening, the Toledo Rockets claimed victory over the Central Michigan Chippewas with a close score of 69-67, marking their third consecutive win.
Javan Simmons was a standout performer for Toledo, contributing 17 points to the triumph. He displayed impressive shooting, hitting 5 of 9 attempts from the field and converting 7 of 10 from the charity stripe. This victory improved Toledo’s record to 9 wins and 6 losses overall, while they remain undefeated in the Mid-American Conference with a record of 3-0.
In addition to Simmons’ performance, Sam Lewis also played a key role, contributing 15 points. Sonny Wilson added 11 points, and Bryce Ford chipped in with 10 points, showcasing Toledo’s balanced offensive effort.
On the other side, Jakobi Heady led Central Michigan’s efforts with a total of 19 points. Both Kyler Vanderjagt and Ugnius Jarusevicius had solid contributions as well, scoring 17 and 11 points, respectively. Unfortunately for the Chippewas, this loss marks their third defeat in a row and compounds their struggles, having lost six of their last seven games.
Toledo’s continued success puts them in a strong position within the conference, while Central Michigan will look to regroup and reverse their fortunes in upcoming contests.
