LOS ANGELES — Demarcus Robinson, a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, faces a misdemeanor charge for driving under the influence of alcohol, linked to his arrest that occurred in November.

Despite the incident, the Rams opted not to suspend Robinson, who was taken into custody during the early hours of November 25, shortly after a home game. His arraignment is set for February at a courthouse located in Van Nuys, according to online records from the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Robinson was apprehended by California Highway Patrol officers who noticed a white Dodge sedan exceeding 100 mph on the 101 freeway, not far from the Rams’ training facilities in Woodland Hills. Upon identification as Robinson, authorities reported he exhibited clear signs of alcohol impairment.

This season, Robinson served as the Rams’ No. 3 receiver, participating in all 17 regular-season games. He stood out with seven touchdown receptions, concluding the season with 31 catches and a personal best of 505 receiving yards.

Following his arrest, Robinson expressed regret, acknowledging the negative impression his actions created. He stated, “It was a bad look. I don’t want to bring that type of light, or any type of negative energy, toward the team. Things like that are not natural for me, in my nature, stuff I usually do.”

As Robinson is set to enter free agency in the upcoming offseason, he has an impressive track record, having never missed the playoffs throughout his nine-year NFL career, which includes stints with Kansas City, Baltimore, and the Rams.

Rams head coach Sean McVay commented on the situation, asserting, “I think it was a bad decision he made. I don’t think that makes him a bad person.”

This weekend, the Rams (10-7) will head to Arizona after their practice on Friday to gear up for their wild-card playoff clash against the Minnesota Vikings (14-3). The matchup has been relocated to State Farm Stadium outside of Phoenix due to extensive wildfires that have swept through the Los Angeles region in recent days.

The report about Robinson’s charge was initially surfaced by TMZ.
