LOS ANGELES — The inaugural episode of World Wrestling Entertainment’s “Monday Night RAW” on Netflix has garnered significant attention, amassing 4.9 million views globally and reaching an average of 2.6 million households across the United States, as reported by VideoAmp.

This three-hour event took place at the Intuit Dome near Los Angeles and marked the beginning of WWE’s extensive 10-year collaboration with Netflix. This partnership, which was forged last January, is reportedly valued at over $5 billion and includes an option for Netflix to extend the deal for another 10 years or withdraw after five years.

Last year, “RAW” recorded an average viewership of 1.2 million on the USA Network, as indicated by Nielsen data. Notably, this latest episode ranks as the most-watched since last year’s April 8 episode, which aired the day after WrestleMania, achieving an average viewership of 2.36 million in the U.S.

WWE stated that this episode stands as the highest viewer count in five years. However, it’s important to note that the global viewership figures do not encompass the 92 countries and territories where WWE content has not yet reached through Netflix, which includes major markets such as France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea.

Netflix, with its impressive 282.3 million subscribers spread across more than 190 countries, has become the exclusive platform for “RAW” in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, and Latin America, with plans to expand to additional nations in the future.
