MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Tyreek Hill is reportedly dedicated to the Miami Dolphins, as confirmed by his agent, despite the wide receiver’s recent comments that suggested otherwise. On ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show,” agent Drew Rosenhaus described Hill as “very passionate” and clarified that his remarks about wanting out of Miami were driven by frustration after missing the playoffs for the first time in his career.
Rosenhaus emphasized that Hill’s emotions are genuine, expressing, “He wants to win. It’s not good enough for him not to make the playoffs. He is very passionate. I think at the end of the day, he is committed to this Dolphins football team.” He also revealed that Hill played through a broken wrist throughout the entire season after sustaining the injury during a training camp scrimmage against Washington.
Doctors recommended that Hill undergo season-ending wrist surgery due to the severity of the injury, but he chose to forgo the procedure. Rosenhaus recounted, “The doctors all said: ‘It’s going to be painful. It could impact your entire career. If you don’t get it done now, you may not be able to fix it all the way.’ Tyreek said: ‘Hey, to heck with it. I’m a team guy, I’m going for it.’”
During the 2024 season, Hill experienced one of the least productive years in his nine-season career, registering 959 receiving yards—his lowest since a season hindered by injuries in 2019. His total of 81 receptions was also a decline compared to prior years. Following a difficult Week 18 loss to the Jets, which eliminated Miami from playoff consideration, Hill hinted at the possibility of parting ways with the franchise he has played for over the last three seasons. “I’m out, bro. It was great playing here,” he stated, “but at the end of the day, I’ve got to do what’s best for my career. … I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel appeared to downplay Hill’s comments, viewing them as an emotional response to a disappointing season. Hill pulled himself out of the game late in the third quarter, prompting McDaniel to have a discussion with him the following day to “clear the air.” McDaniel stressed that it was unacceptable for Hill to exit the game early, and he also confirmed that Hill spoke with general manager Chris Grier, who noted that the receiver did not formally request a trade.
Rosenhaus remarked, “I believe that Tyreek is a great asset to the Dolphins, and I think that he’s the least guy that people should be worried about for this organization. They have more worries. Tyreek Hill is not one of them.”
