LONDON — Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur reassured fans that he is “all good” following an incident where he was stretchered off during the League Cup semifinal clash against Liverpool.

The Uruguayan midfielder collapsed while a corner kick was in progress at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night, prompting immediate attention from the medical team as he lay facedown on the pitch.

After Tottenham secured a 1-0 victory in the first leg of the semifinal, manager Ange Postecoglou provided an update, confirming that Bentancur was alert and had been taken to the hospital for further examination.

Later, the 27-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of himself giving a thumbs-up, expressing gratitude for the well-wishes with the message: “All good, guys! Thank you for the messages!!!”

Details surrounding the reason for his hospital visit remain undisclosed. The incident unfolded when Bentancur attempted to head the ball in the sixth minute but remained down, raising concern among his teammates when he did not rise. He was removed from the field in the 14th minute, with Postecoglou confirming that he was conscious on his way to the dressing room.
