NEW YORK — In an impressive display, Karl-Anthony Towns delivered a standout performance with 27 points and 13 rebounds, while OG Anunoby also contributed 27 points, leading the New York Knicks to a 112-98 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.
Josh Hart bolstered the Knicks’ offense with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson chipped in with 13 points. This win allowed the Knicks to end a three-game skid following a remarkable streak of nine consecutive victories earlier in the season.
Towns had a phenomenal shooting night, making 9 of his 14 attempts from the floor, including a perfect 3 for 3 from beyond the arc, all in just 34 minutes of play. He had missed Monday’s loss to Orlando because of patellar tendinopathy in his right knee but bounced back in a strong way.
On the other side, Immanuel Quickley found his rhythm against his former team with 22 points, while Scottie Barnes led the Raptors with 18 points. Unfortunately for Toronto, this game marked their second consecutive loss and their 14th defeat in the last 15 games.
The Knicks showcased impressive shooting with a 55% field goal percentage. The combination of Towns, Anunoby, and Hart accounted for a significant portion of the scoring, propelling New York to a narrow 55-51 lead at halftime.
In other highlights, former Knicks player RJ Barrett scored 16 points for the Raptors. Mikal Bridges added 10 points, contributing to a well-balanced offensive effort, as all five starters for the Knicks finished the game with double digits.
A crucial moment of the game unfolded early in the fourth quarter when the Knicks were ahead 91-81. Following a basket from Barnes, New York went on a dominant 15-0 run over the next five minutes, during which the Raptors struggled, missing eight consecutive shots and committing two turnovers.
Statistically, the Knicks continued to dominate their rivalry with Toronto, achieving their seventh consecutive victory over the Raptors, a streak that extends back to last season. The last time the Knicks lost to the Raptors was on January 22, 2023, at Madison Square Garden.
Looking ahead, the Raptors are set to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, while the Knicks will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday.
