ORLANDO, Fla. — In a thrilling finish, UCF edged out Colorado with a final score of 75-74, thanks to standout performances from Jordan Ivy-Curry and Keyshawn Hall on Wednesday night. Ivy-Curry led the Knights with 22 points while Hall contributed 18 points and made a crucial block in the closing moments to secure the victory.
UCF improved its record to 11-3 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play, bouncing back from a heavy loss to No. 7 Kansas just a few days prior. Darius Johnson also made a significant impact for UCF, adding 17 points to the scoreboard.
On the opposing side, Colorado’s Julian Hammond III had a breakout game, scoring a career-high 26 points. Andrej Jakimovski helped with 16 points, and Bangot Dak contributed 10 points off the bench. This loss left Colorado at 9-5 overall and 0-3 in conference play, marking the first time the Buffaloes have started this poorly in their conference since the 2016-17 season when they were part of the Pac-12.
As the game approached its conclusion, a critical moment came when UCF turned the ball over with only four seconds left. Colorado took possession of the ball and inbounded to center Elijah Malone, who attempted a jump hook that was blocked decisively by Hall, concluding the game.
Despite another chance delivering Colorado the ball after UCF failed to execute proper in-bounding, the Knights’ aggressive defense pressured Hammond into a last-ditch effort 3-point shot as the shot clock expired. The desperate throw fell short, ensuring UCF held on for the narrow victory.
As for upcoming matchups, Colorado is set to face Arizona on Saturday, while UCF will host No. 21 West Virginia on Sunday at their home arena.
