SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Mister Dean was a standout performer, scoring 23 points to lead South Carolina Upstate to a 77-67 victory over Presbyterian on Wednesday evening.
Dean contributed not only in points but also added eight rebounds and four steals, showcasing his all-around game for the Spartans, who now hold a record of 5-12 overall and 1-1 in the Big South Conference. Breylin Garcia supported the effort with a solid showing, netting 12 points on an efficient 6 of 9 shooting, coupled with five rebounds. Chico Johnson also joined the scoring party, finishing with 12 points as well, hitting 4 for 7 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers.
On the other side, the Blue Hose, now 8-10 overall and 1-2 in the conference, were led in scoring by Jamahri Harvey, who tallied 18 points. Kobe Stewart added to the team’s effort with 16 points and three blocks, while Jaylen Peterson chipped in with nine points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks.
Both teams are set to take the court again on Saturday. South Carolina Upstate will be hosting Radford, while Presbyterian will face off against UNC Asheville.
