LAWRENCE, Kan. — Sedona Prince delivered an impressive performance with 30 points and 14 rebounds, marking her seventh double-double of the season, while Hailey Van Lith contributed 19 points and six assists to help No. 11 TCU secure an 80-73 victory against Kansas on Wednesday.

TCU improved to a record of 16-1 overall and 4-0 in the Big 12, achieving its second four-game conference winning streak under the guidance of head coach Mark Campbell.

With just under seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Van Lith executed a successful three-point play, pushing TCU ahead 68-56. Kansas made a push by scoring eight of the next ten points to narrow the gap. However, TCU’s Taylor Bigby responded by hitting a crucial three-pointer from the corner with 2:25 left, extending the lead to 73-64.

S’Mya Nichols stepped up for Kansas, netting the final nine points for her team, which brought them close at 76-73 with just 30.7 seconds remaining. Still, Van Lith and Madison Conner ensured TCU’s victory by converting all four of their free throw attempts in the closing moments.

Bigby rounded out TCU’s scoring with 12 points, and Conner, who is averaging 16.8 points per game, added all nine of her points in the second half. On the Kansas side, Nichols led the team with 24 points, supported by Elle Evans with 19 and Laia Conesa, who contributed 12.

At halftime, TCU held a slim advantage of 38-32, largely thanks to Prince’s remarkable contribution of 20 points and eight rebounds. Prince concluded the game with a shooting record of 12 for 21 from the field and 6 for 10 from the free-throw line, falling just short of matching her season-high of 31 points.

Originally, the game was set to take place on Tuesday night but was postponed due to adverse winter weather conditions in the area.

As TCU prepares to face Texas Tech on Saturday, Kansas will be traveling to Colorado for their next matchup.
