Tyler Van Dyke moves to SMU following a significant knee injury that ended his sole season at Wisconsin.

Tyler Van Dyke, whose tenure at Wisconsin was truncated by a significant knee injury, is now headed to Southern Methodist University (SMU).
Multiple media outlets reported on his transfer on Wednesday, with his agent, Shawn O’Dare, offering congratulations via social media.

Van Dyke earned recognition as a three-year starter at Miami, where he was named the 2021 ACC rookie of the year.
Following the 2023 season, he made the transition to Wisconsin, securing the starting quarterback position during preseason practice.
He helped the Badgers achieve two victories before sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament tear early in the first quarter of a loss to Alabama on September 14.

At SMU, the team is set to return 2024 starter Kevin Jennings, who led the Mustangs to an impressive 11 wins and a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Additionally, Jennings’ previous backup, Preston Stone, has transferred to Northwestern.

Throughout his combined 35 games with both Miami and Wisconsin, Van Dyke has amassed a total of 7,891 passing yards and 55 touchdowns.
He has one remaining year of eligibility, which he hopes to use at his new school.
Interestingly, Van Dyke already has ties to SMU; coach Rhett Lashlee formerly served as the offensive coordinator at Miami from 2020 to 2021, while D’Eriq King, a former teammate at Miami, currently serves as the quarterbacks coach for the Mustangs.

In other transfer news, Nebraska has acquired offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett from Alabama.
Pritchett started 11 games at right tackle and one at left tackle this past season, addressing a critical need for the Cornhuskers.
With Bryce Benhart, who has an impressive record of 54 games as a starter, having exhausted his eligibility, Pritchett’s addition is timely.

Additionally, Clemson has announced the signing of edge rusher Jeremiah Alexander, who was a five-star recruit when he joined Alabama in 2022.
Although he primarily served as a reserve linebacker for three seasons and contributed mostly on special teams, he is expected to add depth to the Tigers’ roster following the departure of A.J. Hoffler to the transfer portal last month.
