STILLWATER, Okla. — Abou Ousmane had an outstanding performance, contributing 27 points, while bench player Marchelus Avery added 13 as Oklahoma State gained momentum late in the second half to secure a 79-66 victory over Kansas State on Tuesday evening.

Ousmane showcased his skills by making 11 of 15 attempts from the field, and Bryce Thompson chipped in 10 points for the Cowboys, who improved to a record of 9-5 overall and 1-2 within the Big 12 Conference. The team displayed strong shooting, hitting 47.5% of their shots (28 for 59) and 43% from beyond the arc (9 for 21), effectively breaking a two-game skid.

Kansas State’s Coleman Hawkins led his team with 18 points, while David N’Guessan recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Max Jones also contributed 10 points for the Wildcats, who have faced difficulties recently, suffering losses in five of their last six games and currently standing at 7-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

With Oklahoma State holding a narrow 23-22 lead with 5:30 left in the first half, Thompson hit a jump shot, followed by Ousmane’s 3-pointer; this rapid scoring surge allowed the Cowboys to dominate, outscoring Kansas State 20-2 to take a commanding 43-24 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Oklahoma State maintained a comfortable double-digit lead throughout. Avery’s 3-pointer early in the period marked the Cowboys’ first 20-point advantage at 50-30, further solidifying their control over the game.

Looking ahead, Kansas State will prepare for their subsequent match, while Oklahoma State heads out to face Utah on Saturday.
