BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Yaxel Lendeborg delivered an impressive performance, netting 25 points in UAB’s 81-69 win over Tulane on Tuesday evening.
Lendeborg also contributed significantly with 13 rebounds and eight assists, helping the Blazers improve to a record of 9-7, with a conference mark of 2-1 in the American Athletic Conference. Tony Toney supported the team with 15 points, making five of his 11 attempts from beyond the arc. Additionally, Efrem Johnson added 11 points, hitting four out of 11 tries, including one of three from three-point territory.
On the other side, Kaleb Banks led the Green Wave with a double-double, posting 16 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Tulane’s scoring was further bolstered by Asher Woods, who also scored 16 points, while Gregg Glenn III contributed 13 points along with four assists and a pair of steals.
As the teams approached halftime, UAB held a 46-38 advantage, with Lendeborg contributing 15 points before the break. He continued his strong showing in the second half, leading the team with 10 additional points, solidifying their lead and ultimately guiding them to victory.
