NATCHITOCHES, La. — McNeese State triumphed over Northwestern State with an impressive score of 92-69 on Monday night, bolstered by a standout performance from DJ Richards, who contributed 20 points to the victory.

Richards showcased his sharpshooting skills, making 6 out of 9 attempts from the field, which included an impressive 6 of 7 from beyond the arc. He also hit 2 of 3 free throws. This win improved the Cowboys’ record to 10 wins and 5 losses, maintaining their unblemished status in the Southland Conference at 4-0. Sincere Parker added to the team’s success with 18 points and recorded three steals. Christian Shumate made a significant impact as well, finishing with 15 points on 6 of 7 shooting, hitting 2 of 3 attempts from the charity stripe, and pulling down six rebounds.

On the other side, Northwestern State’s performance was led by Micah Thomas, who netted 14 points. His teammates, Addison Patterson and Jon Sanders, contributed by scoring 11 points each, but it was not enough to overcome McNeese’s offensive onslaught.
