DOVER, Del. — In an exciting matchup on Monday evening, Norfolk State triumphed over Delaware State with a final score of 73-64, thanks in large part to Jalen Myers, who delivered an impressive performance, netting 20 points.
Myers also contributed significantly on the boards, grabbing nine rebounds for the Spartans, who improved to a record of 11 wins and 7 losses, marking their second victory in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play, with a record of 2-0.
Sin’Cere McMahon supported the team’s effort, scoring 15 points while showcasing his shooting skills with a 2 for 4 performance from three-point range, and an excellent 9 of 10 from the foul line.
Additionally, Jaylani Darden helped secure the win with 12 points, shooting 5 of 11 from the floor and converting 2 of his 3 free-throw attempts.
On the other side, the Hornets struggled, with Robert Smith leading their scoring efforts, finishing the game with 20 points alongside two steals.
