MELBOURNE, Australia — Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam titleholder, has announced via social media that she and her partner, rapper Cordae, have ended their relationship.
Her announcement comes just days before the commencement of the Australian Open, a tournament she previously won in both 2019 and 2021. Osaka, who also has two U.S. Open titles under her belt, revealed the news shortly after celebrating the birth of their daughter together in Los Angeles in July 2023.
In her heartfelt message, Osaka emphasized that there is no animosity between her and Cordae, acknowledging him as a wonderful person and a fantastic father.
“I am honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing, and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together,” she conveyed in her post, concluding with a heart emoji to symbolize her sentiments.
As she prepares for the Australian Open, which kicks off at Melbourne Park on Sunday (Saturday EST), Osaka recently competed in a tournament in Auckland, New Zealand, where she made it to the final. Unfortunately, she had to withdraw due to an injury after winning the first set of the match.
