AUSTIN, Texas — Brandon Vazquez has made his return to Major League Soccer as Austin FC announced that they have finalized a transfer agreement with Mexican club Monterrey for the acquisition of the 26-year-old striker.

Vazquez has signed a four-year deal with the club, which includes an option for the 2029 season, although it remains unclear if that option is on the side of the club or belongs to Vazquez himself.

Recognized as an MLS All-Star in 2022, Vazquez’s career in the league has included stints with Atlanta United from 2017 to 2019 and FC Cincinnati from 2022 to 2023, where he netted 26 goals across 62 regular-season matches. After transferring to Monterrey last January, he continued his scoring prowess with 14 goals in various competitions.

On the international stage, Vazquez has made 11 appearances for the United States national team, finding the net four times in 2023. His goals this year include matches against Serbia in a friendly as well as games against Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Canada during the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
