Blake Harper delivered an impressive performance by scoring 34 points, leading Howard University to a narrow victory over Delaware State with a final score of 100-94 on Saturday night.
Harper not only shined in the scoring department but also pulled down six rebounds for the Bison, who now hold a record of 6-9 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Cameron Shockley-Okeke made significant contributions as well, netting 24 points while showcasing his sharp shooting by hitting 8 of his 12 attempts from the field, including 6 out of 10 from beyond the arc.
Marcus Dockery also played a key role, scoring 19 points with an efficient shooting performance of 7 for 13, which included 2 for 6 from three-point territory, along with making all three of his free-throw attempts and distributing six assists.
On the opposing side, the Hornets, now with a record of 7-8 and 0-1 in conference play, were propelled by Martez Robinson’s strong showing, which included 28 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
His teammate Robert Smith was also vital, contributing 27 points, six rebounds, six assists, and two steals to the effort, while Kaseem Watson added 22 points to the scoring tally for Delaware State.
