Benjamin recorded an impressive shooting performance, going 8 for 16 from the floor, which included 3 successes out of 6 attempts from beyond the arc. This win marked Tarleton State’s first in the Western Athletic Conference and improved their overall record to 6-10 and 1-0 in conference play. Dantwan Grimes made significant contributions as well, scoring 18 points and recording three steals. His critical free throws with just three seconds remaining were crucial for securing the win. Chris Mpaka also played a supporting role by adding 10 points to the scoreboard.
For the Mavericks, they were led by Brody Robinson, who matched Benjamin’s output with 21 points. Jaden Wells contributed 15 points to the team’s efforts, while Raysean Seamster chipped in with 10 points and pulled down six rebounds. However, with this loss, UT Arlington now holds a record of 7-8 and 0-1 in the conference.
