NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee State Tigers outplayed Little Rock on Saturday night, securing a 95-86 victory, thanks in part to Travis Harper II’s impressive performance, where he contributed 20 points.
Harper made 5 of 15 field goal attempts, including hitting 4 out of 10 from beyond the arc, and he was also effective at the free-throw line, making 6 of 7 attempts.
In addition to Harper’s scoring, Ron Jessamy added a double-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks, while Brandon Weston chipped in with 15 points, shooting 4 out of 10 from the field and 6 for 7 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, the Little Rock Trojans, who now hold an 8-6 record (2-1 in conference play), were spearheaded by Ante Beljan, who delivered a stellar performance with 33 points and 11 rebounds.
Johnathan Lawson also had a noteworthy game, contributing 16 points along with six assists and two steals. Mwani Wilkinson added 12 points, eight rebounds, and recorded two blocks to support the team’s efforts.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again on Thursday. Tennessee State is scheduled to travel to face Lindenwood, while Little Rock will return home to take on Morehead State.
