NATCHITOCHES, La. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Northwestern State triumphed over Nicholls State with a narrow victory of 68-66. Micah Thomas emerged as a standout player, contributing 18 points to the game’s outcome.
Thomas displayed a strong performance, making 6 of his 12 shots, including 3 out of 7 from beyond the arc. Additionally, he went 3 for 4 from the free-throw line. His contributions were pivotal in helping the Demons, who now hold a record of 7-7 overall and 3-0 in the Southland Conference. Teammate JT Warren added to the score, finishing with 12 points on 4 of 7 shooting and also connecting on 3 of 4 free throws. Another key player, Addison Patterson, managed to chip in with 11 points, although he struggled from the field, hitting only 3 of 12 shots but did convert all four of his free-throw attempts.
For the Colonels, Michael Gray Jr. was the leading scorer with 18 points, trying to pave the way for his team’s success. Byron Ireland had a solid outing as well, contributing 15 points along with six assists that highlighted his playmaking abilities. Robert Brown III rounded out the effort for Nicholls State with 9 points and two steals.
