JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Dillon Bailey was a pivotal player for Wofford, contributing 18 points in a tight 81-78 victory over East Tennessee State on Saturday night.
Bailey delivered an impressive performance, making 5 out of 8 shots from the floor, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. He also converted 5 of 6 free throws for the Terriers, who improved their record to 7-8 overall and 1-1 in the Southern Conference. Kyler Filewich supported the team with 16 points, achieving an effective shooting rate of 7 out of 9, although he struggled at the charity stripe, making only 2 of 9 attempts. Besides his scoring, Filewich’s contribution included eight rebounds and three steals. Jackson Sivills rounded out the effort with 15 points, hitting 5 of 8 shots and sinking 4 of 7 from three-point range.
On the opposing side, Quimari Peterson led the Buccaneers with 18 points and four assists, showcasing his skills on the court. John Buggs III followed with 16 points, alongside four assists and three steals, helping keep the game competitive for East Tennessee State. Jaden Seymour contributed 14 points, added seven rebounds, and recorded two steals, further bolstering the team’s efforts.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to play again on Wednesday. Wofford will be hosting Western Carolina, while East Tennessee State will travel to face Mercer.
