ALBANY, N.Y. — UMass-Lowell secured a 73-69 victory over Albany on Saturday night, propelled by strong performances from Quinton Mincey and Max Brooks, who each contributed 16 points to the team’s success.
Mincey also tallied nine rebounds, demonstrating a solid presence on the boards for the River Hawks (12-4). Meanwhile, Brooks was impressive, hitting 7 of 8 shots from the floor and going 2 for 3 from the free-throw line. He added eight rebounds and four blocks to his stat line. Yuri Covington and Quincy Clark supported the effort with 10 points each. This win marked UMass-Lowell’s seventh consecutive victory.
On the other side, Albany (8-8, 0-1) was led by Byron Joshua, who had a solid outing with 18 points and seven rebounds. Justin Neely also made significant contributions, finishing with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Additionally, DeMarr Langford Jr. added 13 points to the Great Danes’ total.
In their upcoming matchups, both teams are scheduled to play on Thursday. UMass-Lowell will welcome Vermont, while Albany will travel to face New Hampshire.
