CARROLLTON, Ga. — In a decisive matchup on Saturday, Mehki played a pivotal role in leading Stetson to a 78-62 victory over West Georgia, scoring 25 points for the Hatters.
Ellison contributed significantly to the team’s effort by dishing out five assists. With this win, Stetson improved their record to 3 wins and 12 losses while holding a record of 1-1 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Josh Massey also made a notable impact, adding 21 points along with six rebounds. Jordan Wood provided solid support, scoring 16 points while shooting impressively—making 5 of 9 field goals and 3 of 5 from beyond the arc, in addition to hitting 3 out of 4 free throws.
On the other side, the Wolves were led in scoring by Tauris Watson, who finished the game with 13 points. Shelton Williams-Dryden also made a significant contribution with 12 points and nearly a double-double, grabbing nine rebounds. Rickey Ballard added nine points along with two steals as West Georgia fell to a record of 2-13, and 0-2 in conference play.
Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to continue their seasons on Thursday. Stetson will be welcoming Central Arkansas, while West Georgia will go on the road to face Austin Peay.
