NEW YORK — Melvin Council Jr. showcased an impressive performance, scoring 24 points to lead Saint Bonaventure to an 86-66 victory over Fordham on Saturday afternoon.
Council’s contributions were significant, as he also tallied eight assists and five steals, demonstrating his all-around skills and enabling the Bonnies to improve their record to 14-1 overall and 2-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

In addition to Council, Jonah Hinton added 17 points with a shooting efficiency of 6 of 11, including 4 of 9 from beyond the arc, and contributed seven rebounds. Lajae Jones also made a noteworthy impact with 16 points, going 5 of 10 from the field, and a remarkable 3 for 4 from three-point territory, while also sinking all his free throws (3 for 3). This victory marks the Bonnies’ eighth consecutive win this season.
