COPENHAGEN, Denmark — On Saturday, Danish authorities announced they are looking into a reported sighting of approximately 20 drones over the port area of Koege, which is located southwest of the capital city, Copenhagen.
According to a statement from regional police, as reported by Danish Radio, officers who responded to the scene on Friday night noticed four large drones flying above the Koege Marina.
The investigation was initiated after a local resident alerted the police, indicating that they had observed around 20 drones, which subsequently vanished into Koege Bay at a rapid pace.
Authorities are currently working to ascertain the total count of the drones and determine who owns them, as there had been no prior authorization granted for any drone operations in that specific area at the time of the sightings.
Additionally, police are exploring other reports of drone activity amid rising security concerns connected to hybrid threats associated with Russia, particularly in the context of its ongoing military engagement in Ukraine and similar incidents occurring in various European nations.
