NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — In an exciting matchup on Friday night, Marist triumphed over Iona with a score of 70-65, thanks in part to Josh Pascarelli’s impressive performance, where he scored 16 points.
Pascarelli not only led the scoreboard but also made notable contributions on the boards with five rebounds for the Red Foxes, who improved their record to 10-2 overall and maintained an unbeaten 3-0 standing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Jason Schofield had a solid outing, netting 12 points with an efficient shooting performance, making five of his seven attempts from the field. Elijah Lewis contributed nine points, demonstrating his shooting skills as he hit three of six shots from the field and converted two of three free throws. With this victory, Marist extended their winning streak to six games.
On the other side, Iona, now at 4-10 and 1-2 in the conference, was spearheaded by Dejour Reaves, who led his team in scoring with 17 points.
Yaphet Moundi had a productive game, finishing with 10 points while also grabbing eight rebounds and securing two steals. Additionally, Christian Winborne matched Moundi’s output by also scoring 10 points and adding three steals to the team’s effort.
Both teams are scheduled to play again on Sunday, with Marist set to host Quinnipiac and Iona heading on the road to face Siena.
