BOSTON — In a thrilling encounter on Thursday night, Rashad King played a pivotal role in Northeastern’s 80-77 victory against Delaware.
King’s stellar performance included 27 points, alongside eight rebounds, three steals, and three blocks, contributing significantly to the Huskies’ success as they improved their record to 9-5 overall and kicked off the Coastal Athletic Association with a win at 1-0.
Masai Troutman also made an impact for Northeastern, scoring 19 points with an efficiency of 7 for 16 from the field, which included two successful 3-point attempts out of six. He was also nearly perfect from the free throw line, going 3 for 4.
In addition, JB Frankel added to the team’s offensive efforts, scoring 13 points on 4 for 7 shooting, including three 3-pointers out of six attempts.
On the other side of the court, John Camden was the standout for the Fightin’ Blue Hens, racking up 21 points and eight rebounds. His teammates Niels Lane and Izaiah Pasha each contributed 14 points to their team’s total.
Northeastern went into halftime with a 10-point lead, 44-34, showcasing King’s first-half scoring with 14 points. He continued his momentum into the second half, leading the team in scoring with another 13 points.
Overall, it was a hard-fought game with both teams displaying impressive skills, but Northeastern ultimately secured the win in their conference opener.
