Inter maintains superiority over Atalanta with a 2-0 victory in Italian Super Cup semifinals held in Saudi Arabia

In a recent match held in Saudi Arabia, Inter Milan, the reigning champions of Serie A, secured a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the semifinals of the Italian Super Cup.
This win marks Inter’s continued supremacy over Atalanta, as they have now achieved seven consecutive victories against their rivals.

The standout performer for Inter was Denzel Dumfries, who netted both goals during the second half of the match.
His first goal came from an impressive acrobatic overhead kick from close range, while he later capped off a swift counterattack with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area.
Despite Inter’s attacking attempts in the first half, Atalanta’s goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi was instrumental in keeping them at bay with several critical saves.

In a surprising tactical move, Atalanta started the match without key players Ademola Lookman, Charles De Ketelaere, and Ederson, who were introduced near the 60-minute mark.
Notably, Ederson had a goal disallowed after a VAR review determined he was offside.
In their previous encounters last season, Inter had decisively beaten Atalanta twice, scoring 4-0 on both occasions.

As the current season unfolds, both Atalanta and Napoli hold a slim lead over Inter, who is one point behind but has a game in hand.
However, Inter’s performance wasn’t without concerns, as Marcus Thuram had to leave the field at halftime due to a suspected thigh injury.

Looking ahead, Juventus is set to face AC Milan in the other semifinal, with Sergio Conceicao stepping in as Milan’s coach after the dismissal of Paulo Fonseca.
The final of this four-team tournament is scheduled for Monday, with Inter aiming to clinch the Super Cup title for the fourth consecutive year.
