Nine players from the Baltimore Ravens, including Lamar Jackson—who has won the NFL MVP award twice—and Derrick Henry, have been named to the Pro Bowl Games roster. The Detroit Lions follow closely behind with seven players chosen, while the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles each contribute six players to the NFC lineup.
In a surprising development, Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback, was not selected to the AFC roster for the first time since taking over as the starting quarterback during his second season. Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl MVP and six-time Pro Bowler, saw a total of five of his teammates recognized, while his fellow player Travis Kelce secured his spot for the tenth time.
Jayden Daniels of Washington has achieved a landmark, becoming only the fourth rookie quarterback since 1970 to be included in the initial Pro Bowl roster. This year’s list also features Raiders tight end Brock Bowers and Rams linebacker Jared Verse as other rookies among the 24 first-time selections.
Detroit quarterback Jared Goff will lead the NFC as its starting quarterback, with Minnesota’s Sam Darnold also part of the roster. For the AFC, Buffalo’s Josh Allen takes on the starting quarterback role, with Lamar Jackson and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow serving as backup options.
In the running back position, Saquon Barkley from Philadelphia claims the NFC’s top spot, making history as the ninth player ever to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season.
San Francisco fullback Kyle Juszczyk achieved a remarkable milestone by earning his ninth Pro Bowl selection, the highest ever for a fullback. Indianapolis’ Quenton Nelson also stands out, being one of only three offensive linemen since 1970 to attain Pro Bowl honors in each of his first seven seasons in the NFL.
Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase is now among the elite, becoming the fourth wide receiver to be selected in each of his first four seasons. Additionally, Dallas’ Micah Parsons is the first defensive player to earn this distinction since Aaron Donald, who maintained a streak of 10 consecutive selections.
Other Ravens players joining Jackson include wide receiver Zay Flowers, safety Kyle Hamilton, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey, among others. The Lions will also see Jaymen Daniels joined by running back Jahmyr Gibbs, center Frank Ragnow, and several others.
The Vikings were led by wide receiver Justin Jefferson and outside linebackers Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Greenard, while the Eagles will be represented by right tackle Lane Johnson, center Cam Jurgens, and inside linebacker Zack Baun, among others.
Notably, the Dolphins, Jets, Titans, and Saints are the only teams that will not have any representatives in this year’s event.
This marks the third year of the Pro Bowl Games, continuing the NFL’s decision to eliminate the traditional full-contact all-star game format and instead focus on a week of skills competitions followed by a flag football match. The games are set to take place in Central Florida, culminating in a seven-on-seven flag football showdown between the AFC and NFC on February 2 at Camping World Stadium. The event will once again see Peyton and Eli Manning serving as head coaches for the respective conferences.
