MACON, Ga. — In an intense matchup on Wednesday, Tyler Johnson made a significant impact by scoring 26 points, including four crucial points during the overtime period, helping Mercer secure a narrow victory over Chattanooga with a final score of 99-94.

Johnson contributed not only as a scorer but also on the boards, recording six rebounds for the Bears, who improved their season record to 8-6 and started off the Southern Conference with a win of 1-0. Ahmad Robinson also had a noteworthy performance, netting 25 points with a shooting efficiency of 9 of 23, complemented by his 3 of 8 success from beyond the arc. Additionally, Robinson showcased his all-around game with five rebounds, ten assists, and three steals.
