EVANSVILLE, Ind. — In a thrilling matchup on Tuesday evening, Kenny White Jr. spearheaded Morehead State to a narrow 70-68 victory against Southern Indiana by scoring a significant 23 points.
Along with his scoring prowess, White contributed six rebounds, showcasing his all-around impact on the game. The Eagles now hold a record of 8-6 overall and remain unbeaten in the Ohio Valley Conference at 3-0. Jerone Morton complemented White’s performance with 15 points, while Anouar Mellouk added 12 points and recorded eight rebounds, demonstrating the team’s depth.
On the opposing side, the Screaming Eagles, who have a current record of 6-7 and 1-2 in conference play, were led by Damoni Harrison. He delivered a standout performance with 24 points, supplemented by six rebounds and three steals. Braxton Jones also made significant contributions with 20 points, while Jayland Randall rounded out the efforts with nine points and six rebounds.
The game took a decisive turn when White executed a layup, extending Morehead State’s lead to 63-52 with just 3:56 remaining on the clock. As the game wound down, Southern Indiana had a chance to tie the score but Jack Campion’s three-point attempt fell short as time expired, securing the victory for the Eagles.
